It was a sea of red and white and the spirit of patriotism was definitely in the air during our National Day celebrations. We had been practising the National Anthem and Our Pledge weeks prior to the celebration day itself. The older children sang with pride while the younger ones showed the same spirit by keeping very still. All the children made windsocks bearing our Singapore flag. They got to wave them rhythmically as the teachers sang some of the familiar and popular National Day songs with them.

Food Craft
In week 5, the children learnt about how Mars is a red and rocky planet. The children were given a chance to discuss amongst themselves and with their teachers which ingredients they could use to make the planet. Most children unanimously agreed that strawberry jam, orea cookies and cheese crackers were ideal choices for making "Mars". The children enjoyed crushing and sprinkling orea cookies tremendously. The children were comparing and telling each other that their "Mars" was the rockiest.
