Chinese New Year Celebrations!

Dear Parents,

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

With the anticipation of Chinese New Year, January was here and gone in a flash. The children in Lumiere had an enjoyable and a meaningful experience. They had a great time sampling different Chinese New Year goodies such as pineapple tarts, Kueh Bangkit, "Love Letters" and everyone soaked in the festivity by decorating our beautiful Pussy Willow arrangement.

Our Nursery and K1 children learnt to write the Chinese character "ji" (which means auspicious) with a calligraphy brush while the K2 children indulged in the art of finger and blow painting. The highlight of the celebration was our annual Lion Dance performance! The children watched and participated in the performance with much aplomb and delight.

What a way to kick start the new year with all that fun, joy and laughter!

On a last note, we would like to extend a warm welcome to our new children as we look forward to more celebrations, festivities and learning experiences in 2012!
