Happy Teacher's Day!

Gathering our teachers around the 2 cakes brought by Elliott, Matthew and Mila while the children sing a familiar song of celebration to them... "Happy Teacher's Day to you!"
(To the tune of Happy Birthday : )
A smile and hug for each one of us is an affirmation in itself :)

The teachers are reading your words of affirmation in a booklet that has been specially compiled for them, appreciating every message you have sent.
Thank you parents & children for making this celebration a memorable and enjoyable one!

“Dear Ms Eileen and Ms Brenda, thank you for making school so enjoyable and enriching for Zachary. We have seen so much progress with him, language wise, socially, and his level of independence, amongst other things, and we attribute a lot of this to you.

He loves the theme for this term, and he's been sharing little facts about different countries/continents with me. There was a week when he mentioned the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and how it was special because it didn't fall. And just today he told me about Antarctica, that it was so cold there because it was covered with snow, and what animals lived in the Antarctica... Its so nice to hear him talk about what he has learnt at school.

I would also like to thank you for your nurturing and patient manner of engaging with him, yet being firm about unacceptable behaviour. I just want you to know that it hasn't gone unnoticed. You are both his favourite teachers, and he has mentioned that to me on several occasions.

And just a few words for Wang Lao Shi too, Zachary (Xian Yang) sometimes speaks to me in Chinese ! Not in full sentence, but he does point to stuff and tell me what it is in Chinese. So I want to thank you for helping me where I am unable to help him , because my Chinese is so poor. I also think that you have such a kind manner, that Zachary naturally feels comfortable with you.”

HAPPY TEACHERS DAY TO YOU ALL !!

Thanks and warmest regards,
Vikki & Douglas
(parents of Zachary Ong Xian Yang)

Rei has made so many positive improvements since he first joined the school and we are thankful to Ms Yvonne for her patience and guidance towards Rei and each and every one of the other teachers who through their daily interaction with Rei have impacted him so positively.   From Wang Lao Shi who picks him up caringly from the car in the mornings and Ms Brenda who always has a cheerful smile for him, to Ms Amanda who helps him with lunch, Chen Lao Shi who talks to him at playground time, Yao Lao Shi to whom he boasted that he listens to Chinese music in the car, his Chinese teacher Guo Lao Shi who is patient and encouraging and of course yourself, Eileen whom I think have done a fantastic job in communicating with parents and running the school.  A big thank you. All of you have made a big difference in Rei's learning journey and we are glad that Rei is happy in Lumiere.
